Linkwood contribute to CO2 sequestration

In order to counteract global warming and its resulting effects, the reduction of greenhouse gases, such as CO2, is urgently required.

The Kyoto Protocol ratified in February 2005 and now binding under international law, stipulates the required objectives for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Every newly planted teak tree binds a certain quantity of CO2. The quantity of CO2 sequestered, in the form of carbon, by teak trees over a plantation rotation cycle of 20 years can be calculated, quantified, and converted into emission rights which can then be traded international, either privately or on various stock markets.
